The 111th session of the Canton Fair is set to open on April 15, once again welcoming major retailers and influential political and business leaders in the worlds.
Over the previous five decades, the Canton Fair has become an important event for small- and medium-sized enterprises seeking to tap into the profitable China market and improve their competitiveness.
In line with China’s 12th five-year plan, the central government has committed to boosting imports to achieve more balanced trade with partners. The Canton Fair helps achieve this goal by increasing the number of participating foreign companies to accelerate the flow of services and products into China.
The 110th Canton Fair, which took place between October 15 and November 4 last year, was the trade fair’s most international version so far. Coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the country’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the event drew about 210,000 buyers from 210 nations and regions and earned $38 billion in business, up three percent from the 109th session.
The 111th Canton Fair will run from April 15 to May 5 at Guangzhou’s Canton Fair Complex. For more details, visit http://www.cantonfair.org.cn.
